WELL DONE!

SAKE MATSURI 2018 is a wrap!

That’s a wrap on SAKE MATSURI 2018, and boy… what a year it was.

We kicked it off in Melbourne with two sell-out sessions; an incredible result considering it was the first time this city had held this event.

Sydney we returned to for the second year running, but in a new venue. We loved the Commune, we felt it was perfect for this event, and it was great to see it sell out for the second year, too.

The fact that all these events sold out and did so quickly is proof of the public’s growing interest in sake. We know this event is going to continue to grow, too.

Well done to all involved! Bring on 2019!

MELBOURNE

524 Flinders Event Space, Melbourne

Melburnians took to Sake Matsuri even more strongly than Sydney did in its inaugural year, selling out both sessions (600 pax in total) before the event.

It was held in the 524 Flinders event space. Size-wise, this venue was perfect for this event, and the outdoor food area provided some respite from the madness inside. Your banners, sake bottles and other table decorations brought colour and life into the space, and we’ll make sure to add more of our own next year, too.

Everyone who attended the event seemed really happy with the range of styles on offer, and left fully stocked with big smiles on their faces.

We’ll definitely be back in Melbourne in 2019.

SYDNEY

The Commune, Waterloo

This was our second year in Sydney, and it’s clear that this city loves to drink sake, and loves to buy it, too!

We moved to a new venue, the Commune at Waterloo, a beautiful space which worked well for this event. At 400 pax this event was definitely a sellout, and was the perfect number for the room.

Attendees were super keen to learn about sake, and spent lots of time talking to you about what you were pouring. The volume they bought to take home is testament to this!

Overall, a great event in a city that absolutely loves sake! Bring on 2019!

WE LIVE SOCIAL

The social media campaign (including Facebook advertising) was key to spreading the good SAKE MATSURI word to a broad and highly engaged audience and proves the power of the various mediums. As shown above, it drives traffic and awareness about the event as we grew our following in Sydney and created an audience in Melbourne.

We also have to say that you guys ROCKED IT! You not only spread the word far and wide but also got back to us with your profiles super quick. This went a long way to help us create engaging content, drive traffic and smash Google ratings. THANK YOU!

Below are some fascinating insights into the Social Media Campaign. It is without doubt each platform has it’s own personality and unique way of engaging with our audience. Facebook and Instagram are king here.

FACEBOOK

Let’s face it. We’re always on Facebook and this event was no exception. This was the main way in which we promoted the event and spread the good word.

Facebook advertising was key here and conversions were high, reach and engagement were especially on mobile. Mobile, mobile, mobile.

INSTAGRAM

Pictures (and videos) do tell 1000 words and when it came to event day, this was where you could follow all the action. We love this platform and judging by people’s posts, they do too. The evolution and emphasis on Instagram Stories during the course of this year proved powerful in the campaign, where both pre-event announcements and live video resulted in notable engagement.

While analytics are challenging, the insights do show that this platform is the ‘go to’ for event action and engagement.
